We are grateful, happy, and excited to announce that our project has been selected and approved by European Union's Erasmus+ programme which is a funding scheme to support activities in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport. Baltic Football School together with Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE), Siauliai Football Federation (Lithuania), FC Elva (Estonia) and Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine) we will be working together to further develop the youth sports sector.

        From February 4 to March 6, in the LASE's 2nd-floor lobby is exhibited a "Photo Gallery of Academy Graduates - Outstanding Athletes," dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the LASE, featuring 24 individual and sports team portraits. The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Latvian Sports Veteran-Senior Association and the support of the Latvian Sports Museum.

LASE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “SPORT SCIENCE AND HEALTH CARE IN SPORT” HAS IS OVER

On February 5, the Latvian Academy of Sport Education hosted an international scientific conference "SPORT SCIENCE AND HEALTH CARE IN SPORT 2020", IN WHICH more than 60 sports science and health care professionals, scientists, university lecturers and students presented to the general public their research and experience in different sports. in areas ranging from pedagogy to technology in health care and sport. A total of 42 scientific studies were presented.

Opening the conference, LASE Rector Professor Juris Grants acknowledged that the Academy is undergoing an tense but at the same time very interesting period, as this year it implements 17 different level projects aimed at strengthening LASE academic, research and infrastructure capacity to prepare for sports field labor market adequate level specialists.

THE BALTIC SPORT SCIENCE ASSOCIATION BOARD VISITS THE FUTURE LASE HEALTH CARE IN SPORT RESEARCH CENTER

On January 31, representatives of the Baltic and Polish sports higher education institutions visited the future LASE Health Care in Sport Research Center during the annual meeting of the Baltic Sports Science Association, where they got acquainted with the research directions planned in the laboratories of the Center and with the installed sports and health care scientific equipment. It is planned that the new research center will start its activities this autumn, with the beginning of the new study year.

FIRST BOOK ON CLIMBING SPORTS IN LATVIAN REACHES THE READERS

On Wednesday - January 8, at the Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE) was an opening celebration of the first book written in Latvian about climbing sports “Climbing Sports. Theory and Practice”, released at a crucial time as the climbing sport will debut at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this year. The authors of the book are LASE Associate Professor Inga Liepiņa and Climbing Sports Coach Santa Vilka.

The book was first welcomed by climbing sports enthusiasts, representatives of the Alpinist Association, as well as managers of LASE and other sports organizations.

In addition to the authors, the event was attended by LASE Rector Professor Juris Grant, Chairman of the Sports Subcommittee, the EducationCulture and Science Committee of the Saeima of the Republic  of Latvia Sandis Riekstiņš, Latvian Olympic Committee Vice President Raimonds Bergmanis, Latvian Olympic Academy President Ivans Klementjevs, President of the Latvian Alpinist Association Mihails Pietkevičsand Chairman of the Board of “Jumava” publishing house Juris Visockis.

FOREIGN STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN LSPA INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS AT LITHUANIAN SPORTS UNIVERSITY

From 7 to 11 October, LSPA representatives went to Kaunas to participate in the Intensive Course of the NordPlus Horizontal project NPHZ-2017/10130 “Nordic Baltic Learning Environments for Movement Affordances”, 01.09.2017 - 30.06.2020.

Within two days, students and project lecturers and sports teachers from Lithuanian Sports University, Latvian Academy of Sport Pedagogy, Riga Hansa Gymnasium, University of Tartu, Tartu Kivilinna Elementary School, Finnish University of Jyvaskila, University of Iceland and Southeastern Norwegian University College, went to three Kaunas schools - Jonas and Petro Vileyshiai school, Kaunas Saules Gymnasium and Kaunas Alexander Pushkin Gymnasium.
